1. The
Financial Times, Food & Travel, March 2008
An olive grove with gnarled trees, some planted 1500 years ago,
Levendis is a hillside landscaped into a beautiful organic garden
looking out to white cliffs with fingers of green scrub reaching
down to the improbably blue Ionian sea. The view is timeless and the
peace is overwhelming..... Odysseus spent seven years ensnared by
the goddess Calypso. She asked him why he wouldn't accept her offer
of immortality and eternal youth. He replied that he wanted to get
back to Ithaca.

The Ethical Travel Guide, published in The Independent, 7
April, 2006:
Everything Levendis does is geared to the health of the
environmentally fragile island of Ithaca. Your spending on the
island will benefit local families and businesses, and you can even
buy trees to offset the carbon emissions of your flight to Greece.

3. The
Sunday Times - Travel, 30 Jan 2005 says:
Ithaca, the fabled home of Odysseus, is calmer still. Stay at the
idyllic Levendis Estate created by a Greek family as their own dream
holiday destination. It's an organic farm set in terraced olive
groves and gardens, and can accommodate 20 guests in several
cottages. Childcare is available, as are motorboats, scuba and
sailing lessons, and aromatherapy massage by the pool. Kitchens come
stocked with fresh produce from the garden, and there's a fine
restaurant. A week for four, including transfers from Cephalonia
airport to Ithaca and a hire car, is £3,170 — cheaper if your
children are under 6 or share a cot in your room. Catch a charter to
Cephalonia.

Odysseus had trouble getting home to Ithaca but Mal and Spero have
outwitted the gods and laid on a private caique from Kefalonia. An
idyllic island of lush hills, pretty villages, friendly locals,
aquamarine seas. At Levendis the shimmering beauty of Aphales Bay
draws you down through sage-scented gardens to a salt-water pool
where swallows drink. The view is dazzling. Sunsets turn the
Marmakas peninsula pink. A very special place.
